DEFINITIONS AND INTERPRETATION

 

"Ronaldo Academy"

the world's premier network of football schools for the youth; holds as core objective spreading Ronaldo's 'Phenomenal' playing style throughout the globe; and is headquartered in Brazil

"Ronaldo Academy Hong Kong"

a trade name of Entertainment Group (Asia) Limited (hereinafter "R9HK") which owns, manages, organizes, and promotes R9HK courses, sessions, programs, camps, tournaments, and football coaching classes and activities

​

"Applicant(s)"

an individual who applies for R9HK courses, sessions, and football coaching classes and activities for another individual aged between 3 and 17 years old

​

"Student(s)"

an individual who has enrolled or has been enrolled to participate in or receive the R9HK courses, sessions, and football coaching classes and activities

​

"Venue(s)"

the places in which R9HK courses, sessions, and football coaching classes and activities are held, hosted, conducted, or administered

​

"Session(s)"

a single period or class of an R9HK course

​

"Course(s)"

a pre-designated, pre-scheduled, and structured aggregate of sessions or classes

​

“Classes”

a pre-designated, pre-scheduled, and structured aggregate of sessions

​

“Program(s)”

a pre-designated, pre-scheduled, and structured aggregate of sessions

​

“Camp(s)”

a pre-designated, pre-scheduled, and structured aggregate of sessions or classes

​

“Tournament”

a series of contests between a number of competitors competing

​

"Enrolment"

registration for R9HK courses, sessions, and football coaching classes and activities

​

"Payment"

the monetary fee to be paid by Applicants or Students for the R9HK courses, sessions, and football coaching classes and activities

​

"Territory"

the entirety of the territory of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People’s Republic of China

 

Enrolment

• The Applicant warrants that he/she is authorized to enroll the Student in R9HK.

• Incomplete information may lead to unsuccessful enrolment.

• Enrolment is not confirmed until a confirmation is issued via return call or written confirmation.

• Enrolment is subject to availability and is on a first-come, first-served basis.

• R9HK reserves the right to make alterations to the classes and policies without prior notice.

 

Payments

• Fees will be charged once enrolment is confirmed.

• Enrolment is subject to payment in full with no retention or set-off of any nature whatsoever prior to the first Session to guarantee the Student’s enrolment.

• Payment is non-refundable, non-transferable, and non-cancellable.

• For regular classes, Applicant will be charged on a monthly basis, based on the total number of sessions held in each month. For courses, Applicant will be charged for the whole course. For private classes, Applicant will be charged according to the sessions enrolled.

 

Weather

• Sessions held outdoors on an artificial grass surface, which is an all-weather surface, will not be affected due to rain and classes will proceed as usual.

• In the event the Black Storm and/or Typhoon No. 8 signal is hoisted during the period of three (3) hours preceding the scheduled commencement of the Session and the scheduled completion of a Session, the respective Session will be canceled. Otherwise, cancellation due to bad weather is at the discretion of R9HK.

• R9HK may cancel lessons if it considers that the weather condition is not suitable for the lessons.

• If the class had begun and had to cancel due to the adverse weather during the first half of the Session, only half of the Session will be charged. If the class had begun and had to cancel due to the adverse weather during the second half of Session, the full Session will be charged. R9HK’s calculation of the said charge shall be final and conclusive.

 

Cancellation

• No refund or credit will be given to a Student who misses a Session for any reason.

• R9HK reserves the right to cancel or re-schedule any lessons at its sole discretion.

• In the event of cancellation by R9HK of any Session for any reason, R9HK will credit the canceled Session towards any new Course, Class, or Program enrolled and undertaken by the same Student.

• Private Classes

  • For a cancellation with more than 24 hours advance notice, the participant can request for rescheduling of the lesson although no guarantee can be given as to the time and date of the rescheduled session.

  • Only one request to reschedule will be entertained.

  • The request has to be made within 24 hours from the canceled date after which no such request will be entertained and no refund will be made.

  • For cancellations with less than 24 hours' advance notice, 100% of the total fees will be charged.

 

Illness / Injury and Leave of Absence

• In the event that a Student is prevented from attending a lesson because of illness or injury, the Student is required to submit proof by way of a valid medical certificate issued by a registered medical practitioner in Hong Kong.

• Upon receipt of such proof, and subject to availability (which is not guaranteed), R9HK may, at its sole discretion, credit the canceled Session towards any new Course, Class, or Program enrolled and undertaken by the same Student. No other requests for re-scheduling or make-up lessons will be entertained, and all fees paid for Session(s) not attended will be forfeited without further notice.

• In the event that the Student is advised by the doctor to temporarily discontinue playing football, the Student may freeze any remaining Sessions for a period of up to 6 months.

• Leave of absence will only be authorized in exceptional circumstances. All applications for leave must be written and made at least two (2) weeks in advance. It is important that parents/guardians understand the circumstances when leave will be agreed is dependant on its reason and may require submission of supporting information.​

 

Conduct

• The Ronaldo Academy Phenomenal jersey must be worn to each Session.

• The Student is required to bring to each Session appropriate football shoes/cleats according to the training surface, shin guards, and water.

• The Student will meet at the Venue mentioned in the Course details. R9HK recommends the Parent/Applicant of the Student under the age of 8 (or other guardian) to remain at the Venue for the duration of the Session.

• Students are encouraged to arrive 5-10 minutes prior to the commencement of the Session.

• Session starts and finishes on time. Once the Session is completed, the Applicant will be required to pick up the Student from the Venue.

• Late arrivals will not receive an extension of the scheduled Session.

• R9HK reserves the right to expel the Student from a Session or the entire Course for behavior by the Student or their accompanying persons considered unacceptable to R9HK or the Venue and without any refund.

• Private Classes

  • Any Student who is not at the agreed Session within 20 minutes of the agreed scheduled Session will be deemed to have canceled the lesson and will be charged for the entire session in accordance with the cancellation policy.

 

Image Use Authorization

• By enrolling with R9HK, the Applicant and the Student are agreeing to the use of the Student’s image and/or other representation in any and all materials to be used by R9HK in a gratuitous and free of charge basis including without limitation video images, photographs, sounds, and documents.

• This authorization is granted on a gratuitous character, covering the use of the image and other representation mentioned above throughout the Territory and throughout the world for the promotion of the services provided by R9HK through, without limitation: (I) billboards; (II) mobile media; (III) leaflets in general (booklets, direct mails, catalogs, etc); (IV) presentation folders; (V) advertising in magazines and newspapers in general; (VI) home page; (VII) posters; (VIII) back-light; and (VIIII) electronic media (panels, videos, television, movie theatre, radio program, and others).

 

Liability Waiver

• The Applicant and the Student agree to hold Entertainment Group (Asia) Limited, Ronaldo Academy Hong Kong, Ronaldo Academy Escola de Futebol S.A., and all of their respective subsidiaries, associated companies and associated entities and all of their respective shareholders, directors, officers, employees, coaches, consultants, agents and representatives harmless against any claims, losses, demands, damages, injuries, actions, suits, proceedings and costs and/or expenses of any nature whatsoever suffered by the Applicant and/or Student and resulting from and/or connected and/or associated with in any manner with enrolment and/or participation and/or attendance of Applicant and/or Student in the Ronaldo Academy Hong Kong courses, programs, camps,  tournaments, sessions, and football coaching classes and activities.

 

Dispute Resolution

• Chinese language version of Terms and Conditions is for reference only. In case of disputes, controversies, or differences which may arise out of and/or in connection with the interpretation of the Terms and Conditions, the English language version shall prevail.

• In case of disputes, Entertainment Group (Asia) Limited reserves the right for final decision.

• Entertainment Group (Asia) Limited reserves the right to change and/or amend the Terms and Conditions from time to time at its sole discretion.

 

Warranty

• The Applicant and the Student warrant that they have read this set of Terms and Conditions comprehensively and in full in this R9HK website (www.RonaldoAcademy.hk) and agree to comply with and abide by all of the terms and conditions set out herein.
